Like an original lamp with a natural, robust but industrial look and feel. This standard lamp, made from an oak branch, is a real eyecatcher in your room. Admiring looks guaranteed.
  1. Step 1: You can buy a ready-use oak branch or you can just look for one outside. In that case, make sure the underside of your branch is thick and solid.
  2. Step tip

If you look for a branch outside, do make sure you give it a chance to dry out properly before starting.
  3. Step 2: Once the branch has dried out, remove the bark. Carefully sand down rough areas with a multi-sander.
  4. Step 3: Saw the MDF sheet to size with the circular saw.
  5. Step 4: Measure and mark the midpoint of the square. Use a 6 mm bit to drill a hole, then enlarge the first couple of millimetres using a 10 mm bit.
  6. Step 5: Apply the black varnish to the square sheet and leave to dry.
  7. Step 6: Clamp the branch to your workbench and drill the underside of the branch using a 6 mm bit.
  8. Step 7: Screw the wooden foot to the branch and set it upright.
  9. Step 8: Drill a hole in the branch and thread the lamp cord through.
  10. Step 9: Connect the lamp and carefully twist the cord around the branch as you’d like it. Switch on the lamp and admire your work!
